New Year Tour of Java 2027
Starting the new year among volcanoes, tropical waterfalls, and small islands between Java and Bali is a memorable way to spend the New Year holidays. Over seven days, you will travel across East Java and discover some of its most remarkable landscapes: watch the sunrise over Mount Bromo, descend to the base of Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, and trek to the crater of Mount Ijen.
This itinerary has been created especially for the New Year holidays and will take place only once, from December 28, 2026, to January 3, 2027. You will celebrate New Year’s Eve in Banyuwangi, where a festive dinner awaits you at the hotel. The first day of 2027 will be spent by the sea: travel by boat to Menjangan and Tabuhan islands, snorkel along coral reefs, and enjoy time on small tropical islands. The program also includes enough free time to rest between journeys without turning the holiday into a nonstop race from one attraction to the next.

How the Trip Unfolds
9:00 AM – 2:00 PM — Pickup at your hotel or the airport in Bali and transfer to Gilimanuk Port on the western coast of the island.
2:00 PM – 3:00 PM — Ferry crossing across the Bali Strait to Ketapang Port in Java.
3:00 PM – 4:00 PM — Upon arrival in Java, continue to Jagir Waterfall.
4:00 PM – 5:00 PM — Visit Jagir Waterfall and enjoy a walk through the surrounding tropical landscape.
5:00 PM – 5:30 PM — Transfer to Dialoog Hotel, check-in, and free time. Spend the evening relaxing after the journey.
8:00 AM – 8:30 AM — Hotel pickup and transfer to Watudodol Beach.
8:30 AM – 9:00 AM — Preparation for the boat trip, safety briefing, and fitting of snorkeling equipment.
9:00 AM – 9:30 AM — Boat trip to Menjangan Island.
9:30 AM – 11:30 AM — Snorkeling and a walk around the island. Explore Menjangan’s coral reefs and tropical marine life.
11:30 AM – 12:00 PM — Lunch break with a packed lunch.
12:00 PM – 12:30 PM — Boat trip to Tabuhan Island.
12:30 PM – 1:30 PM — Free time to explore the small island.
1:30 PM – 3:00 PM — Return to Watudodol Beach, time to freshen up, and transfer back to the hotel.
Until evening — Free time to relax before the New Year’s Eve celebration.
From 7:00 PM — New Year’s Eve dinner at the hotel to celebrate the arrival of 2027.
Begin the first day of 2027 at a relaxed pace. Sleep in after New Year’s Eve, enjoy breakfast, and spend a peaceful morning at the hotel.
Until 12:00 PM — Free time.
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM — Check out from Dialoog Hotel and transfer to Ijen Resort & Villas.
1:00 PM – 2:00 PM — Check in at Ijen Resort & Villas.
The rest of the day is free. Relax at the resort and recharge before the nighttime departure for Mount Ijen.
12:30 AM – 1:30 AM — Nighttime departure from the hotel and transfer to Paltuding, the starting point for the Mount Ijen trek.
1:30 AM – 2:00 AM — Safety briefing and preparation for the trek.
2:00 AM – 3:30 AM — Hike to the crater. The ascent takes place in the dark and lasts approximately 1.5 hours.
3:30 AM – 6:00 AM — Sunrise at Mount Ijen. As daylight arrives, the vast volcanic crater and its famous turquoise acidic lake come into view. Enjoy the scenery and take photos.
6:00 AM – 7:00 AM — Descent to Paltuding.
7:00 AM – 8:30 AM — Return to the hotel.
8:30 AM – 10:00 AM — Breakfast, shower, and preparation for check-out.
10:00 AM – 5:00 PM — Transfer to a hotel near Tumpak Sewu Waterfall. The drive takes approximately 7 hours. After check-in, the rest of the day is free.
5:30 AM – 6:00 AM — Early morning departure for Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, one of East Java’s most impressive waterfalls.
6:00 AM – 9:00 AM — Visit Tumpak Sewu. Begin at the panoramic viewpoint overlooking the waterfall, then descend to its base. The descent takes approximately 30 minutes along a challenging and wet trail, so comfortable footwear and a good level of physical fitness are recommended.
9:00 AM – 11:00 AM — Return to the hotel, rest, and prepare to continue the journey.
11:00 AM – 3:00 PM — Drive to the Bromo region. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy free time.
3:00 AM – 4:00 AM — Early morning departure from the hotel. Travel by 4WD jeep to one of Bromo’s viewpoints to watch the sunrise over the volcanic landscape.
4:00 AM – 6:00 AM — Sunrise viewing with panoramic views of Mount Bromo and the surrounding volcanoes. As the first light appears, the vast caldera and volcanic peaks gradually come into view.
6:00 AM – 7:00 AM — Descent to the Sea of Sand. You will have time to walk across the volcanic landscape and take photos.
7:00 AM – 8:30 AM — Hike up Mount Bromo and visit the crater of the active volcano. The final section follows a staircase leading directly to the crater rim.
8:30 AM – 9:15 AM — Return to the jeep and drive back to the hotel.
After 9:15 AM — Free time. Enjoy breakfast, relax at the hotel, and spend the rest of the day without any scheduled activities.

Your departure time will depend on your flight schedule. At the agreed time, your driver will meet you at the hotel and transfer you to Surabaya Airport.
