How it will be
Transfer: Bali - Bromo Mountains
Our team will meet you early in the morning. We will drive through the western tip of the island to Gilimanuk ferry terminal in a comfortable car. The road passes through the most picturesque areas of Bali: beaches, rice fields and the western national park. We will then embark on a ferry to Ketapang harbour near Banyuwangi in East Java - the ferry ride will take around an hour. In Ketapang, we will stop for lunch at a local restaurant and continue our trip to the Bromo mountains area. We will spend another 4 hours on the road before arriving to the final destination of the day - the Jemar Lawang village. Here you will check-in and then relax after a busy day.
Day 2: Bromo Mountain Tour and more
Sunrise on Mount Bromo - Mount Bromo Crater - Madakaripura Waterfalls - Banyuwangi
We will leave the hotel in a jeep early in the morning to arrive in time for the sunrise. An unforgettable Bromo Mountain tour awaits us. We will arrive at the viewing platform of Mount Pananjakan as early as 3 a.m.
The incredible view at the Tengger caldera edge will catch your breath - you will see the magnificent ascending panorama of Bromo in all its glory. The play of shadows and lights here seems and feels like pure magic.
We will then climb the active volcano. After taking 240 steps up, we will be on its top to see the crater of the volcano and the amazing landscape around it. Having had time to enjoy the scenery, we will return to the jeep and drive back to the hotel, where you will have breakfast, collect your belongings, have some rest and leave for Banyuwangi at 9 a.m.
Along the way we will admire another beautiful place - the Madakaripura waterfalls in the foothills of the Tengger ridge. We will stop there to appreciate the power of the waterfalls. Madakaripura is a complex of seven waterfalls, with the main one falling from a 200 metre height: here cascades of water flow in extremely powerful streams. Afterwards we will continue our trip to Banyuwangi with a stop for lunch, followed by on-site registration and rest. We will embark on a new trip at midnight.
Ijen - Bali
We will leave the hotel at 1 a.m. to drive to the slope of the active volcano Ijen, where we will find ourselves in an amazing natural world - this is one of the few areas in Java where giant ferns and fantastic plants still grow. It will take us around an hour and a half to climb to the crater of Ijen with its blue lights.
Ijen is famous not only for its magical blue shimmer. This place is also the largest sulfur deposit, and here it is constantly being mined. Miners climb up from the crater with 80 kg baskets on their shoulders. We will have a chance to witness the whole process.
We will see the sunrise at an altitude of 2386 meters above sea level. From there, enchanting landscapes will open up: the silhouettes of the mountains, the morning mist and the acid lakes of unbelievable colours - all for real. Make sure to take plenty of photos - otherwise, when you get back home, you will not believe that you saw it all for real with your own eyes!
We will then return to the jeep to head back to Bali. Inclusive of a ferry ride, overall the journey will take approximately 5 hours.
