One of the most charming and breath taking peak is Mount Abang in the south-eastern wall of the caldera next to Mt. Batur and once is a part of a volcano, it is the third highest peak (2,151 m) in Bali just behind Mount Agung and Mount Batukaru.

The way to the top passes though a marvellous smoky forest with many centuries-old trees directly to the sunrise where you can feel yourself as a part of mystery fairy tale above the clouds and magnetic Island.

At the peak of Mount Abang tourists will ﬁnd a split gates and several altars of an ancient temple, that was destroyed at 1926 by landslides eﬀected by eruption of Mt. Batur.

What To Expect

The driver of Como Bali Tour transport company arrives at your hotel at a scheduled time; you should wait for the car at the reception of your hotel or in front of your villa. The transfer goes to Mount Abang when everyone gathers. At the meeting point, you will meet your guide, who will hold a short briefing and provide flashlights.

Climbing Mount Abang starts at 3 a.m. To make the trekking to the height of 2 151 meters above the sea more comfortable, there are several stops on the way. You will climb to the top of the mount at sunrise. There reveals an amazing view of caldera and the mountain lake, surrounded with the morning mist. On the top of the mount, a light breakfast with bread, boiled egg, fresh fruit and tea or coffee will be served for you. You will have plenty of time to enjoy the sunrise and take beautiful pictures. Then you will start the tracking back to the meeting point. The driver will meet you at the parking area.

After everybody gathers, the transfer starts and takes you back to your hotel or villa. The arrival time depends on traffic and your destination.

Como Bali Tour

Booking, payment (by credit card), information clarification - everything went great. The driver contacted us the day before (via WhatsApp). Arrived on time. From Kuta to the foot - a little over two hours. We left at 00:30. The guide was one for the two of us - an excellent old man - helped everywhere (especially on the descent). Everything was according to the program (don't decline hot coffee before the ascent). We took things according to the list - everything came in handy! Footwear, of course, with a tread. Better trekking boots. Basic physical preparation is needed. Taking children (in my opinion) - only if they are "touristically inclined" and about 13 years old. An excellent excursion!
