Best walking trails in Bali
They say that Bali is not suitable for walking. The island has few sidewalks, lacks wide promenades and pedestrian streets, and all the roads are occupied by transportation, especially motorcycles, which are popular means of getting around for the locals. Consequently, the Balinese haven't prioritized pedestrian zones, and they are practically non-existent here. Tourists also prefer renting scooters, cars, or using taxis to get around.
So, where can you take your leisurely strolls? We are here to share a few options with you!
Sanur
Sanur is the most convenient area for walking among all the regions of Bali. Here, along the ocean, an impressive pedestrian zone stretches for a remarkable 4 kilometers. It is truly a luxury in Bali. The pathway passes by cozy hotels, seaside restaurants, and fishing boats. Bicycles are not allowed on the path, but any walking enthusiast can stroll and enjoy the views of the ocean and the cliffs of the neighboring island, Nusa Penida. The pedestrian path in Sanur is also perfect for jogging, offering a unique opportunity to combine physical activity with magnificent natural scenery.
