Tirta Gangga

Tirta Gangga

A former royal water palace located in the east of Bali amidst rice terraces and hills. After traveling to France and contemplating Versailles, the Raja of Karangasem decided to build something similar on his native land. The location was chosen deliberately: the magnificent landscapes and holy water from the spring made the Tirta Gangga palace truly unique. It is believed that the sacred spring, on which the palace stands, is about 200-300 years old and originates from a great river. The complex is famous for its picturesque pools with carps, fountains, and bridges adorned with carvings. Tourists can walk along the stone paths, feed the carps, and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of one of the most beautiful palaces in Bali.
