09:00 - Start the day with a visit to Pura Besakih Temple - the main Hindu temple complex of the island. It consists of 22 separate temples that rise at the foot of the Agung volcano in terraces. Here you can see the spiritual life of the island of the Gods in all its manifestations: colorful ceremonies, offerings to the gods, meditations and locals in national clothes.
Optional for an additional donation, you will have the opportunity to pray with a local Balinese monk.
After visiting Pura Besakih, you will go to the Kerta Gosa Museum, where you can plunge into the indescribable atmosphere of the oldest Balinese traditions, look at paintings and many other exhibits. The main building of the museum is the former Palace of Justice, where real court sessions were held many decades ago. The ceiling of the building is decorated with frescoes depicting the Hindu epic.
At the end of the tour you will go to the villages of artisans. Crafts and creativity play a huge role in the life of Balinese. Your program will include as many as 3 villages that specialize in wood, gold and silver, as well as batik - the traditional technique of painting on fabric with wax. Here you can get to know the process of creating different things and buy yourself unique handmade souvenirs.
The prayer at Pura Besakih Temple is conducted by a local Balinese monk. If you wish to have a ceremony performed by the renowned Balinese Manku Jati, please inform the manager in advance of your request.
