Manta Point

Manta Point is one of the most famous diving and snorkeling spots near the Nusa Penida islands (southeast of Bali), where you can encounter giant oceanic manta rays—graceful creatures with wingspans reaching up to 5–6 meters. This is truly an exciting and unforgettable place for underwater adventures.
Manta Point is located off the southern coast of Nusa Penida, about a 45-minute boat ride from the island. The water here is crystal clear, but a bit cooler than in other areas, making it especially comfortable for mantas, which come here to be cleaned of parasites at underwater "cleaning stations."
The main feature of Manta Point is the opportunity to swim side by side with these majestic creatures in their natural environment. Despite their impressive size, mantas are not aggressive and are absolutely safe for humans. Their smooth movements in the water create an almost meditative dance.
In addition to mantas, you can encounter many other marine inhabitants here: turtles, reef sharks, stingrays, and schools of tropical fish. However, due to the open ocean and wavy conditions, snorkeling and diving here are best suited for confident swimmers and experienced divers.
Excursions to Manta Point usually depart from Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, or Bali itself, and are often combined with visits to other dive sites such as Crystal Bay or Gamat Bay.
Visiting Manta Point is a unique chance to meet these ocean giants face to face and feel the magic of the underwater world in one of Indonesia’s best natural reserves.
