Crystal Bay

Crystal Bay is a wide cove on the western coast of Nusa Penida, framed by dense groves of coconut palms. In the center of the bay, a rocky islet topped with a small temple rises from the water, acting as a natural breakwater and protecting the shore from powerful ocean currents. The water here is exceptionally clear, and the seabed slopes gently downward, revealing vibrant coral gardens. It is one of the few places on the island where a calm shoreline allows for comfortable entry and swimming along the reefs to observe schools of tropical fish.
Along the beach, rows of simple sun loungers and local drink stalls stretch beneath the palms, offering a classic tropical retreat between trips to the rugged clifftops. The ocean within the bay remains calm most of the time, although strong currents of the Penida Strait begin just outside the cove.
