One of the best ways to explore Komodo is by boat. It allows you to move easily between the islands, reach beautiful bays and beaches, and see much more over the course of a few days without having to return to Labuan Bajo each evening.
Kanha Loka is a Standard-class boat with private air-conditioned cabins, en-suite bathrooms, comfortable shared lounge areas, and open decks. Here, the journey between the islands becomes part of the experience itself: wake up beside a new island, spend the day trekking or snorkeling, and watch the sunset from the deck in the evening.
You can choose the travel format that suits your plans best. The boat can be chartered privately for a customized journey lasting from one to four days. If you prefer a more budget-friendly option, you can join a three-day group cruise departing every Friday. All that remains is to decide how many days you would like to spend among the islands of Komodo.
Upon arrival in Labuan Bajo, an escort will meet you at the airport. The group will gather between 9:45 AM and 10:00 AM, after which you will head to the port.
At 10:30 AM, the boat will depart, marking the beginning of your three-day journey through the islands of Komodo National Park.
Your first stop will be Kelor Island. Here, you will take a short hike to a viewpoint overlooking the coastline and neighboring islands. After the walk, lunch will be served on board.
Next, you will head to Rinca Island, where you will join a national park ranger for a guided walk in search of Komodo dragons and have the chance to observe them in their natural habitat.
Toward evening, the boat will anchor near Kalong Island. Here, you will watch the sunset and see thousands of flying foxes leave the mangroves at dusk in search of food.

The morning begins with breakfast on board. You will then continue to Padar Island, where you will have time to hike to the famous viewpoints overlooking the island’s hills and surrounding bays.
After returning to the boat, lunch will be served as the cruise continues.
The next stop is Pink Beach. Here, you will have time to relax on the pink-sand beach and snorkel in clear water among coral reefs and tropical fish.
The boat will then continue to Taka Makassar, a small sandbar surrounded by turquoise water. Manta rays are often seen in the surrounding area, and with a little luck, you may encounter them while snorkeling.

After breakfast, you will sail to Kanawa Island. You will have time to relax by the sea, take a walk around the island, and enjoy a final swim before returning to Labuan Bajo.
The boat will then head back to the port. Arrival is at around 11:30 AM.

A trip to the Komodo Archipelago is definitely one of the best experiences in life♡ This is one of those cases when the reality of the trip exceeded all expectations. The itinerary is very rich, yet balanced. There are many activities, but there is also time to relax on the boat, have a snack, and sunbathe. You can skip some of the points if you're not up for it. There's no point in describing the beauty of all the places; it's something you must see. No photo can convey the reality – the reality is much better, just incredible. Special thanks to the ship's crew – we were extremely lucky with ours; everything was very delicate and proper, the food was simple but fresh, and the crew was friendly yet unobtrusive. No group exercises, campfires, or communal tables with conversations – everything was by personal choice. We had actively chatting people in the company as well as those who enjoyed the silence and beauty. And my personal gratitude to the guide for saving my phone and helping in a difficult situation at depth in the ocean. It was truly wonderful to enjoy the beauty without the need for fuss, but knowing that help would come and you're safe. Also, special kudos for the GoPro and drone photos – it's included in the package, you're actively and beautifully filmed, and you'll end up with lots of videos and photos as souvenirs.
