The capital of Indonesia is striking in contrast: the ultramodern architecture of the metropolis is combined here with a deep cultural heritage and historical treasures.
The first thing you will see is the legendary Monas obelisk, a symbol of the country's independence, towering 132 meters. Nearby is the grandiose Istiklal Mosque, the largest in Southeast Asia. A few minutes by car will take you to the ancient port of Sunda Kelapa, where the majestic two—masted ships "Pinisi" are moored to this day.
The old town of Kota Tua takes you back to the era of the Dutch East Indies. Stroll through the colonial streets, visit the Jakarta Museum, and then have lunch at the "Batavia Café" restaurant, once the residence of Dutch governors. End the day with a walk through the prestigious Pantai Inda Kapuk district with its designer mansions, parks and boutiques.
Do you want more? Extend the trip by the second day.
On the second day, you will find the unique "Taman Mini Indonesia Indah" park, where traditions, architecture and everyday life of all the peoples of the country are gathered.
Then there are exciting adventures in the "Ancol Dreamland" park, roller coasters, marine life, exotic birds, a gondola over the coast and even a game of golf.
The highlight of the day will be lunch at the "Grand Palace of Arts", where you will be greeted by waiters in early 20th century uniforms and will be served delicious dishes in an atmosphere of royal comfort.
