Mud, sand, and adrenaline: enduro tours in Bali
If you're looking to challenge yourself, unleash your adrenaline, and speed through crazy speeds in Bali - try enduro motorcycle tours. This island, with its long beaches, lush jungles, and volcanoes, offers interesting routes and opportunities for both beginners and experienced riders.
What routes are there in Bali?
Enduro tours in Bali offer the opportunity to ride in beautiful locations, often inaccessible to tourists:
Black Lava - a track at the foot of the active volcano Batur. Here, there is plenty of space to ride at high speeds, jump over dunes of hardened lava. Due to the altitude, the weather is always comfortable here, not too hot, and during the rainy season, the surface is great for sliding.
Black sand beach is a route of more than 40 km along the coastline in the Tabanan area. The track has a smooth surface, without obstacles, allowing you to hit the gas to the max and ride fast, forgetting about everything, enjoying the sound of the waves and the beauty of the sunset.
The Jungle is the most popular and challenging route with obstacles. Making your way through dense vegetation, steps, vertical slopes, steep turns, and getting stuck in the mud, you will be able to test the capabilities of your motorcycle.
One route takes 4 hours, two routes take 8 hours. This includes instruction, the ride itself, and breaks for rest. We recommend choosing the option of two routes for a full day, for example, first, you can drive on hardened lava, and then, after honing your skills a bit, you can tackle obstacles in the jungle.
Is enduro tour suitable for beginners?
Enduro tours are suitable for anyone who knows how to ride on two wheels - on a motorcycle or a bicycle. Other skills can be acquired. Instructors will teach you how to use a manual gearbox, and it is not that difficult.
For beginners, we have a special program. Instructors will provide you with equipment, help you put it on correctly, and conduct training during which you will learn how to properly handle a cross-country motorcycle.
How to choose a motorcycle?
Based on your experience, instructors will select a bike for you. In our programs, we use cross-country motorcycles of the brands KLX or KTM from the 2023 production year. When choosing, we primarily look at power:
For beginners, a bike with a power of up to 150cc is sufficient. It weighs less and is easier to control.
For those who confidently ride scooters but have not tried enduro before, you can take a motorcycle with 230cc.
For those with excellent driving skills, who know where they are going and why, and are ready to push their limits, a bike with 300-350cc can be recommended.
All our motorcycles are insured and designed for extreme riding, so there is no need to worry about possible damage.
Are enduro rides dangerous?
Enduro requires participants to have willpower, endurance, and a sense of safety. Enduro rides can be associated with certain risks. To ensure safety during enduro tours, it is necessary to observe a number of precautions:
Technical preparation of the motorcycle
Before the ride, it is necessary to carefully check the technical condition of the motorcycle. All systems should be in working order, including brakes, suspension, lighting equipment, and the engine. Therefore, make sure to choose a reliable company with positive reviews, certified instructors, and licenses.
Briefing
Before the ride, the leader will conduct a briefing on motorcycle control and safety techniques on the track. Listen carefully to the instructor, do not hesitate to ask questions, and ask again if you do not understand.
Gear
All participants are provided with clean, professional gear that fits properly:
- Helmet: Mandatory head protection. It should be strong and meet safety standards.
- Motocross protection: Knee pads, elbow pads, chest protectors, and back protective plates provide additional safety.
- Motocross boots: Tall and sturdy boots with shin protection provide protection for the legs and ankles.
- Motocross pants and jersey: Lightweight, moisture-resistant, and breathable materials suitable for various conditions.
- Gloves: Protect hands from wind, cold, and injuries. They may have reinforcement in the area of the bones.
Compliance with safety rules
Adhere to safety rules on the track. This includes maintaining distance, warning other participants of your movements, and showing respect for other riders.
Assessing your abilities
Be realistic about your skills and physical fitness. Do not take too many risks on difficult sections if you are not confident in your abilities. If you have any fears or difficulties in overcoming the track, call an instructor, they will help.
Insurance
Purchase a travel insurance policy that covers medical expenses. In our programs, motorcycles are already insured, so you don't have to worry about them.
Resting regimen
Give your body time to recover. Long and intense rides require participants to be in good physical shape.
Following these safety measures will help make enduro rides safer and more enjoyable. Remember, safety should always come first.
