In the evening, you can go out to witness the spectacular show the Balinese create on the night before Nyepi — the Ogoh-Ogoh Parade.
Huge handmade demon figures with bulging eyes, fangs, fire, smoke, and astonishing detail are carried through the streets. They roar, sway, and are spun at crossroads while crowds shout and orchestras thunder — all of it feels like an ancient ritual that suddenly draws you in.
One of the largest parades takes place in the Nusa Dua area. We recommend finding out the exact location in advance and arranging transportation if needed.
The morning begins with a relaxed breakfast for two at the hotel restaurant, overlooking lush gardens or the pool.
