What To Expect

Morning transfer

Around 11:30, a driver from Jelajah Indonesia Timur company will be waiting for you at Tambolaka Airport on Sumba Island. They will then transport you to your hotel located in the southwest part of the island.

Day 1

Upon your arrival at the hotel, a delicious lunch will be ready for you. At 13:00, your adventure will commence, following the schedule below:

14:00 - A visit to the traditional village of Ratenggaro. You'll be captivated by the unique houses with their elaborately elongated thatched roofs. In this village, you'll have the chance to observe the daily lives of people who are accustomed to a way of life far removed from urban civilization.

Following your village visit, you'll head to Pero Beach to relax and witness a stunning sunset. In the evening, a delightful dinner awaits you, allowing you to unwind and recharge after a fulfilling day at the hotel.

Day 2

7:30 - After a delicious breakfast, your first stop will be at Mandorak Beach, where you'll have the opportunity to snorkel and encounter hundreds of colorful fish.

9:30 - Next, you'll head to Lake Waikuri, characterized by its turquoise waters and natural separation from the ocean by rocks. The serene pool is enveloped by lush vegetation, and there's a wooden path encircling it, providing a pleasant walking trail. Your journey will then take you to the traditional village of Praijin, where you'll venture on a forest trek and have a chance to swim in Lapopu Waterfall.

18:00 - Finally, you'll check into your hotel on the east side of the island.

Day 3

At 7:30 a.m., following an early breakfast, you'll embark on a journey to the Wairinding hills, where you'll indulge in trekking and take a refreshing swim in the pristine blue waters of Waimarang Waterfall, nestled among the lush jungle.

By 4:00 p.m., you'll have the opportunity to stroll through the scenic hills of Walakiri, capturing the breathtaking sunset on Walakiri Beach and taking photos against the backdrop of the iconic mangrove trees that are a hallmark of Sumba.

Day 4

Your last day of the journey will start with an early departure from the hotel and witnessing the dawn on the Tanau hills. Here, you'll be amazed by the pristine beauty of the vast hilly expanses bathed in the morning sun.

Return transfer

At 6.00 the driver will take you to Waingapu Airport.

Important information:

• In a group of up to 4 people, an Indonesian guide is included without additional charges. The guide speaks exclusively in Indonesian and does not speak English. Guests can use a translation app on their phone to communicate with the guide, but this option is only available if there is internet access at the hotel, as internet access is limited along the route. If guests choose to go on a tour without an English-speaking guide, they must strictly follow the itinerary and program schedule provided by the Indonesian guide. It is important for guests to follow the local customs and listen carefully to the guide's instructions;
• An English-speaking guide is provided only for groups of 4 people or more. If there are less than 4 people in the group, the surcharge for an English-speaking guide is 2.500.000 idr;
• Extra charge for single room - 1 600 000 idr;
• It is necessary to pay 400 000 idr for entrance tickets to attractions at the airport to the guide or driver;
• The arrival airport does not coincide with the departure airport, be careful when booking tickets.
