Manta Bay

Manta Bay is a shallow cove off the west coast of Nusa Penida, globally renowned for the opportunity to swim with majestic Manta Rays. Unlike deeper dive sites, these graceful giants rise to the surface here to feed on plankton, making the bay an ideal location for snorkeling. Thanks to a unique current system that brings in nutrients, the bay attracts mantas year-round, turning a simple boat trip into a breathtaking adventure.

The underwater landscape combines a rocky seafloor and coral outcrops at depths of 5–12 meters. The main highlight is the "dance" of these giants, whose wingspan can reach up to 5 meters. Mantas are entirely peaceful and often show curiosity, gliding just centimeters away from swimmers. The water boasts a deep turquoise hue, with visibility ranging from 10 to 20 meters. Watching these "sea devils" soar effortlessly through the ocean creates a sense of surreality and remains one of the most vivid impressions of the archipelago.
