Thousands of years ago during the earthquake near the island of Nusa Penida, a huge boulder broke off. The stone fell to the bottom of the ocean and hundreds of years it was grinned by waves and currents. Then have grown coral gardens and appeared coral fish. This dive point is called the famous Manta Point because it is here where come giant manta rays in search of coral fish. They are called 'sea devils', but they are completely safe! Manta rays come to the shore for fish to clean their abdomen from plankton accumulated in the gills.
At Manta Point there are practically no currents and the average water temperature is from 28 to 30 degrees.
No less amazing dive point near the shores of Nusa Penida is Crystal Bay. It is a place that will capture your imagination with its crystal clear water, colorful coral gardens, fish, octopuses, and the opportunity in winter (July - October) to see a huge moonfish or Mola-Mola. Mola-Mola comes to this dive point in search of small fish that will clean it from parasites. In winter the temperature drops to 20 degrees, often there are currents at the point, so you must strictly follow the recommendations of the guide.
How it will be
At the appointed time of the meeting, a driver of DIVING INDO club will come to your hotel/villa. You need to wait at the reception of your hotel or near the villa.
In the dive club, the instructor will pick up for you all the necessary equipment: fins, masks, wetsuit, cylinders.
Then you go to the port and take a speedboat. Boat with divers and snorkelers heads towards the open Indian ocean in the direction of Nusa Penida island. The boat ride will take approximately one hour.
Before the dive, you will have a briefing by the instructor, who will remind you of the basic safety rules underwater so as to overcome your fears and put aside your doubts.
During the first dive at Manta Point lasting 35-40 minutes, you will observe graceful movements of giant rays. Rays swim so close that if you are lucky, they may let you touch them. After the first dive, you will have a delicious lunch on the boat.
The second dive is at Crystal Bay, named because of crystal clear water, white sand and the incredible beauty of coral gardens and fish. The duration of the dive at Crystal Bay is 25-30 minutes.
Then full of emotions and impressions you take the road back and return to the dive centre.
A return transfer will take you to your hotel/villa. The exact time of arrival depends on the traffic and the location of your hotel.
● We do not guarantee meeting rays during the snorkel, be mindful that it is wild nature.
